Neural Networks Run 2x Faster: FlashAttention-3 from NVIDIA
Together AI has unveiled FlashAttention-3, a new algorithm for speeding up transformers in large language models. It runs twice as fast as FlashAttention-2. The H100 GPU is now utilized at 75%, up from the previous 35%. The algorithm supports low-precision FP8 computation while preserving the accuracy of results. This lets LLMs process long text sequences more efficiently without slowing down computation, and it lowers costs.

Neural networks now run 1.5–2x faster: Together AI, NVIDIA and Meta have released FlashAttention-3, an algorithm that speeds up attention in transformers and uses 75% of GPU capacity instead of the previous 35%.
Why does faster AI save money?
Cloud computing is getting more expensive, while LLMs demand ever more resources. Every percentage point of efficiency now translates into money.
