Anthropic opens Claude to Spotify, Uber and TurboTax through personal connectors
Anthropic has added personal connectors to Claude for everyday services, from Spotify and Audible to Instacart, TripAdvisor and TurboTax. The assistant can now do more than work with corporate tools: it can suggest relevant apps in the middle of a conversation, such as services for hiking, travel, shopping or food delivery. It is another step toward AI as a universal interface for everyday tasks.

Anthropic is turning Claude from a work chatbot into a universal interface for everyday tasks. The company has added personal connectors to services such as Spotify, Uber, Uber Eats, Instacart, TripAdvisor, TurboTax and AllTrails, so users can handle everyday matters in a single conversation without constantly switching between apps.
Anthropic announced the launch on April 23, 2026. Until now, Claude's ecosystem was noticeably stronger on the work side: the assistant could already connect to corporate and office services, including Microsoft tools and other business apps. Now the company is clearly betting more on consumer use cases.
The new set includes Audible, Booking.com, Intuit Credit Karma, Intuit TurboTax, Resy, StubHub, Taskrabbit, Thumbtack, TripAdvisor, Uber, Uber Eats, Viator and other services tied to travel, shopping, leisure and personal finance. Anthropic says the new connectors are already available on all Claude plans, while the mobile version of the feature is still in beta. According to Anthropic, Claude's catalog has grown to more than 200 integrations since connectors launched in July 2025.
The company is changing not only the list of available services but also how Claude works with them. Previously, users more often picked the tool themselves; now Claude is supposed to suggest a relevant app as the conversation unfolds. If someone asks for a weekend hiking route, the assistant can suggest AllTrails. If the topic is groceries, it can pull in Instacart. If the question is about a trip, Uber, TripAdvisor or Booking.com become the logical next step. When several services fit, Claude shows the options and lets the user choose.
Anthropic specifically stresses that it is not turning this recommendation layer into an advertising storefront. Conversations should contain no paid placements or sponsored answers, and results are ranked by usefulness to the user, not by commercial agreements. That is an important signal amid growing concern that AI assistants will eventually steer users toward services that benefit the platform rather than the person. For Anthropic, the claim is an attempt to head off some conflict-of-interest questions as the assistant begins to influence not only information search but also real transactions.
The data-control side is just as important. Anthropic states that data from connected apps is not used to train models, that the apps themselves do not get access to the user's other conversations with Claude, and that a connector can be disconnected at any time. In addition, the assistant must ask for confirmation before a purchase, a booking or any other action on the user's behalf. In other words, Claude is being steered toward the role of an operational layer between people and a set of digital services, but for now it is kept in the mode of advisor and intermediary rather than a fully autonomous agent.
The launch of personal connectors is also a competitive move. Some similar integrations have already appeared at rivals, including ChatGPT, so the contest is no longer only about model quality but about which platform becomes the main interface for everyday decisions. The winner will not necessarily be whoever answers more cleverly in a vacuum, but whoever connects a user's request to a concrete action faster and more conveniently: playing music, ordering food, calling a car, planning a trip or sorting out taxes. For the market, it is another sign that AI is gradually shifting from a "smart window for questions" to a layer for managing digital life.
For users, this can potentially save time and reduce friction between disjointed services. For Anthropic, it is a chance to establish Claude not only as a work tool but also as an everyday assistant that people turn to for any routine need.
