39 AI startups are wrapping up their run in the Vercel Accelerator 2026 with a Demo Day in front of investors in San Francisco. Over six weeks, they built the next generation of AI applications with mentoring from the Vercel team, partners and industry leaders.

Six weeks of intensive training

Accelerator 2026 brought together teams from around the world working on AI agents, developer tools, consumer apps and solutions for vertical markets: finance, security, healthcare and robotics. Each week, participants attended two mandatory sessions: a technical workshop and a conversation with industry experts.

The workshops covered the practice of building AI products, from choosing models and frameworks to deployment and scaling. Speakers included experts from OpenAI, the Windsurf team, Vercel engineers and well-known investors. Topics ranged widely: the state of the AI market, SaaS pricing, legal risks, B2B sales, marketing and fundraising strategies.

"Speed is everything in the AI era.

We are building AI for financial operations, and launching on Vercel with partners like Browserbase, WorkOS and Braintrust was the obvious choice. The Accelerator brought together a unique mix of startups, partners and AI leaders who helped us speed up and stay accountable in the early stages." — Merlin Kafka, co-founder of Rex

Builder Day and access to expertise

Midway through the program, all the startups gathered at Vercel's San Francisco office for a dedicated Builder Day. The day included technical workshops, direct consultations with partner engineers (AWS, Anthropic), time to build, and networking. On the day's main panel, Vercel CTO Malte Ubl talked with Paper CEO Stephen Haney about trends in AI products and growth strategies for early-stage startups.

Each team was allocated more than $200K in credits and access to tools from Vercel and its partner ecosystem:

  • Vercel AI Stack: AI Gateway, Sandbox, Workflows, Fluid Compute, v0 and other tools
  • Partners: AWS, Anthropic, OpenAI, Browserbase, ElevenLabs, Auth0, WorkOS, Notion, Modal, Neon, Supabase

This package let startups develop ideas quickly without worrying about infrastructure or licenses.

Demo Day: pitches and winners

After an intensive 6 weeks, the 39 teams presented at Demo Day at the office of partner Auth0. Each startup got a few minutes to pitch a group of VCs, AI leaders and company partners. Judges evaluated the validity of the problem, the fit between technology and solution, product quality and how convincing the final pitch was.

The jury picked three winners, who received prizes and credits worth over $100K.

Rex, an AI company for the financial back office, took first place. It unifies customer context across different systems so that AI agents can fully automate the accounts receivable cycle. Besides credits, Rex received an investment from Vercel Ventures.

Hacktron AI, which took second place, is an AI assistant for security teams that helps catch vulnerabilities in production code.

What this means for AI startups

Vercel's model shows how a platform is becoming more than a cloud for deployment, and turning into a full foundation for an ecosystem. When a platform provides infrastructure, training, access to experts and investment, it shortens time to market by almost an order of magnitude. In the competitive AI landscape of 2026, such accelerators are becoming a necessity for keeping inexperienced founders in step with the pace of innovation.
