Danila Dyugurov, 16 Years at Yandex, Takes Over as Head of MWS Cloud

On October 13, 2026, cloud company MWS Cloud announced a change in leadership. Danila Dyugurov has taken over as CEO, replacing Evgeny Kolbin in the role. Prior to the appointment, Dyugurov spent three years as the company's CTO, leading the creation of MTS's own cloud platform from scratch and assembling an engineering team of nearly 500 specialists.

Dyugurov graduated from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Control Processes at St. Petersburg State University and spent 16 years at Yandex (2007–2023), working his way up from a search quality tools developer to head of several strategic directions. At Yandex, he built an expert labeling platform (a precursor to Yandex.Toloka), developed a search acceptance system, created an internal cloud container platform for thousands of developers, and later led the creation of the container and serverless ecosystems at Yandex Cloud.

Building MWS Cloud Platform from Scratch

In 2023, Dyugurov joined MWS Cloud as CTO, where he led the creation of MTS's own cloud — MWS Cloud Platform. To carry out this ambitious project, an engineering team of nearly 500 specialists was assembled, including professionals from leading IT companies: Yandex, VK, Selectel, Cloud.ru, MTS, Amazon, Facebook (Meta, banned in Russia), and other organizations. Dyugurov built the platform's entire development process from the ground up, laying the technological foundation for the business's further growth.

Priorities as CEO

In his new role, Dyugurov will focus on the company's strategic business development, revenue growth, and expanding the customer base. His tasks include further developing the company's cloud platform and AI direction. Pavel Voronin, CEO of MTS, outlined the main development goals: ensuring continued growth of the cloud business, developing the commercial function, improving sales efficiency, and strengthening long-term relationships with customers and partners.

Platform and AI Infrastructure Development

Continued work on MWS Cloud Platform should serve as the technological foundation for growth. This includes expanding the product lineup, improving the availability and reliability of cloud services, and developing infrastructure for AI workloads: scaling up GPU capacity and creating tools for model training and inference.

Dyugurov has established himself as an experienced leader in the cloud industry. His achievements include launching the Yandex Cloud public cloud, leading the team that created MWS Cloud Platform, being named to GlobalCIO's "Top 100 IT Leaders" ranking in 2026, and MWS Cloud Platform's win at the "CDO/CDTO Awards 2026" in the "Best Platform" category.
