Chinese company Wanxun Technology (万勋科技) held a presentation of its strategy for automated robot charging in Beijing on July 9, 2026, and presented a universal automated charging engine called "柔韧充" (literally — "flexible charging"), which, according to the company, covers for the first time in the industry all categories of application — public, specialized, and home charging — within a single architecture.

The key claimed characteristic of the new system is "0.000-second reaction with infinite tolerance" (0.000s无极容差应变): the device instantly adapts to changing conditions when the charging connector is connected. Simultaneously with the engine, the company announced three achievements that it called world firsts (全球首例) — one each in each of the three categories of application: public, specialized, and home charging.

How the technology works

According to the company's description, at the core of the engine is a flexible biomorphic mechanical design (unlike traditional rigid motorized manipulators), passive adaptive flexibility of materials, and "neural multimodal AI", forming the trajectory of movement in real time. This combination, according to Wanxun Technology, allows the system to safely and reliably connect the charging connector even under random mechanical disturbances — for example, if the car is parked at an angle or nearby unpredictable movement of people and other vehicles occurs.

The company points to four requirements that a truly scalable automated charging system must meet: safety of interaction (do not damage humans, vehicles, or charging ports), high resistance to deviation of conditions, protection from external environment, and simplicity of deployment and maintenance without expensive infrastructure rework.

Where robots are already being used

Based on the Wanxun Technology engine, the company has already released a line of products — stationary CF1 and mobile CS1 — which the company has deployed in unmanned ports, in quarries, for robotaxis and robo-buses, as well as in premium commercial and home segments. The company's strategic goal is complete coverage of autonomous driving scenarios with charging infrastructure; for this, Wanxun Technology cooperates with automakers, charging station operators, energy infrastructure providers, autonomous transport operators, and local authorities.

What this means

Automatic charging of electric vehicles has long remained a demonstration technology — prototypes existed, but mass deployment was hampered by the unpredictability of real conditions: different car models, different locations of charging ports, random interference like passing people. Wanxun Technology's claim of a "universal" engine working in all scenarios at once is an attempt to close exactly this gap between demo video and commercial operation on a large fleet of robotaxis and cargo equipment.
