SIA: Open-Source Neural Network for Self-Updating AI Agents

Hexo Labs has open-sourced SIA, an agent that improves itself. The system analyzes its own mistakes and can either rewrite its working instructions or update the neural network weights of the gpt-oss-120b model. Tests showed that results are far better when the agent does both at the same time. This was verified on legal benchmarks, GPU optimization and biological data analysis.

Hexo Labs has released SIA, a neural network for building self-updating AI agents that improve themselves while they work, built on the gpt-oss-120b model.

How does SIA update itself?

After each run, a dedicated Feedback-Agent analyzes the task execution trajectory and identifies where the agent made mistakes or suboptimal decisions. Based on that analysis, the system chooses an improvement mechanism.

Where can you download SIA, and is it free to use?

SIA is published openly under the MIT license, which lets developers freely use and modify the code.
