PwC and Anthropic have announced an expansion of their strategic partnership. PwC consultants will begin deploying Claude at scale to automate business processes, develop software, and restructure corporate functions for clients worldwide. According to estimates, due to systems built for the pre-digital era, the global economy loses more than $2 trillion.
Deployment to hundreds of thousands of professionals
PwC will begin deploying Claude Code and Cowork initially in the United States, then expand to its global workforce of hundreds of thousands of professionals. At the same time, the companies are creating a joint Center of Excellence — a space for collaborative development and innovation. PwC is also launching a training and certification program for 30,000 professionals to enable them to work effectively with Claude on their projects.
Three areas of maximum impact
The most significant benefits for enterprises will come from AI systems that perform end-to-end tasks, operate continuously, and enable experienced professionals to work at scale previously impossible. PwC and Anthropic are building these into production today.
The first direction is agent technology development. PwC engineers are using Claude Code to deliver production software to large companies in weeks instead of quarters. This covers a growing portfolio of agent development across financial services, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, healthcare, and consumer sectors.
Second is AI-native deal-making. PwC is reinventing the end-to-end deal execution process: from due diligence through value creation to integration. Agents work alongside deal teams, shortening the path from investment thesis to value realization. For private equity sponsors and corporate buyers, this changes the economics of what's worth doing.
Third is corporate function restructuring. Many companies are launching pilots; PwC is already working in production, building scalable AI-native operating models for finance, supply chains, HR, and engineering functions.
Results that speak for themselves
Claude is already operating in production across several critical areas:
- Insurance underwriting: reduced from 10 weeks to 10 days
- Cybersecurity: tasks now take minutes instead of hours
- Mainframe modernization and HR transformation in production
- Overall delivery time reduction — up to 70%
These figures show that this is not about hypothetical capabilities, but real economic results in active projects.
Office of the CFO — new business unit
PwC has launched a new business unit focused on transforming financial operations of its clients using Claude. The practice combines PwC's financial expertise with Anthropic's full product suite: Claude, Claude Cowork, and Claude Code. It starts with regulated industries (banks, insurance, healthcare), where accuracy and auditability are critical. Projects range from targeted assistance with specific financial tasks to complete restructuring of entire functions.
"Clients are seeking AI applications that are safe, responsible, and
capable of delivering measurable results in complex business environments"
What this means
The transition from experiments to production-scale deployment of AI agents at the Big 4 consulting level is not marketing, but a real 2026 trend. When PwC, with hundreds of thousands of consultants, deploys such solutions, it's a signal that the market is shifting from pilots to embedded operating models where AI is not a tool, but part of everyday work.
