Anthropic has introduced ten ready-made Claude agents for financial companies — they automate the most time-consuming work in investment banking: pitch deck preparation, KYC verification, and month-end report closing.

Ten new agents for fintech

Each agent is a ready-made architecture that includes three components: skills (instructions and domain knowledge for the task), connectors (managed data access), and sub-agents (additional Claude models for specific sub-tasks). Companies can adapt agents to their own models, risk policies, and workflows.

The new agents are divided into two groups. The first, Research and client coverage, is focused on client work and market analytics. The second, Finance and operations, focuses on internal financial processes and compliance.

Research and client coverage:

  • Pitch Builder — preparation of target lists and pitch decks for client meetings
  • Meeting Preparer — compilation of briefs on clients before calls
  • Earnings Reviewer — analysis of earnings reports, model updates, thesis flags
  • Model Builder — creation of financial models from filings, data feeds, and analytics
  • Market Researcher — sector monitoring, news synthesis, and flags for risk review

Finance and operations:

  • Valuation Reviewer — verification of valuations vs. comparables and methodology
  • General Ledger Reconciler — reconciliation of GL accounts and NAV calculation
  • Month-End Closer — month-end closing by checklist and journal preparation
  • Statement Auditor — audit of financial statements for consistency and completeness
  • KYC Screener — verification of documents, source checking, and compliance flags

Each agent can work either independently (on the Claude Platform) or in tandem with an analyst (in Claude Cowork or Code).

Microsoft 365 — context across all applications

Claude is now integrated with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and (soon) Outlook through specialized add-ins. After installation, context automatically transfers between applications — you can start work in a financial model, edit the structure in Excel, and then transfer the results to a PowerPoint presentation, all while remaining in a single conversation with Claude. There's no need to reiterate details: Claude sees the full context.

Two ways to put it to work

The first way is as a plugin in Claude Cowork or Claude Code. The agent works alongside the analyst directly on their computer, using already-installed software. Pass Pitch Builder a list of target companies — get a ready-made comparables analysis in Excel, a draft pitchbook in PowerPoint, and a cover sheet in Outlook. This is for work that requires live oversight and iteration during the process.

The second way is as a Claude Managed Agent on the Claude platform, for autonomous work on your whole book of deals or on a schedule (for example, every night). The cookbook will set up everything necessary: long-running sessions (important for multi-hour deal closings), fine-granularity permissions per tool, a vault for managing credentials, and a complete audit log in the Claude Console. Compliance and engineering can inspect every tool call and decision Claude made.

In both cases, humans remain in the loop. They review the results, iterate on details, and approve Claude's work before it goes to the client, into databases, or into the archive. Automation without oversight is not an option.

What this means

Ready-made AI agents for financial tasks are no longer prototypes — they're going into production. Claude Opus 4.7 already leads the financial benchmark from Vals AI with a score of 64.37%, surpassing competitors. For investment banks, private equity firms, and asset managers, this means that complex analytical work (pitch prep, valuation review, month-end close) can be partially or fully delegated and completed in days rather than weeks.
