A new interesting player is emerging in the wearable devices market – MossCode, an AI startup that has attracted financing of tens of millions of yuan in an angel round. The company's valuation has reached an impressive $100 million. Investments were provided by XVC and Qingliu Capital funds. MossCode plans to use the received funds to expand its developer team and ensure stable serial production of its devices. Market entry into Europe and the USA is planned for the first half of 2026.

MossCode's founder, Ni Ruoyan, has extensive experience investing in technology companies, including well-known projects such as Yun Whale and Zheng Hao. Later, she led the household energy storage direction at Zheng Hao, where in one year she expanded the team from 10 to 100 people and achieved annual revenue of 1 billion yuan. Co-founder Ma Xiao has experience working at OPPO, where he was responsible for flagship products in image processing. The MossCode team consists of specialists who previously worked at OPPO, Apple, Suunto, and Garmin, which ensures a complete product development cycle – from understanding user needs to commercialization.

Ni Ruoyan's decision to found a company focused on sports and health was driven by her personal experience. During her student years, she professionally rowed and suffered a serious injury, which allowed her to gain a deeper understanding of the body's recovery processes and the importance of an individual approach to training. This experience became the starting point for creating a product that goes beyond simple data collection.

Market analysis shows that Apple Watch, despite its popularity, has already demonstrated negative sales dynamics for two years in a row. Meanwhile, specialized devices such as Garmin continue to grow. Garmin achieved record revenue of $1.77 billion in the third quarter of 2025, which confirms growing demand for professional sports and health solutions. Companies like Whoop and Oura Ring, specializing in health monitoring, also demonstrate impressive results, indicating demand for continuous health status monitoring based on data.

MossCode aims to fill an existing market gap. Garmin, while offering deep data analysis, is complex for ordinary users. Whoop, in turn, focuses on recovery and sleep monitoring, but falls short in data accuracy during training. Some users are forced to wear both Whoop and Garmin simultaneously to get a complete picture of their condition. MossCode plans to create a device that combines the advantages of both approaches – accurate data monitoring during training and comprehensive recovery analysis.

The MossCode team is confident that technologies have reached a level where it is possible to create a device that is simultaneously lightweight, convenient, and functional. They also take into account the latest advances in sports science and neurobiology to offer users not just data, but personalized recommendations based on their individual characteristics. AI plays a key role in this process, allowing the analysis of data collected by the device and offering users optimal training programs and recovery recommendations.

MossCode plans to start with niche markets, such as cycling and endurance running, and then expand its audience. The company is confident that it will be able to offer users a unique product that will help them better understand their bodies and achieve their sports goals. Ultimately, MossCode aims to become a window into self-understanding, deciphering the "code" of each user's body condition.
