Meta is developing an AI-powered pendant based on the startup Limitless, acquired in late 2025. The device will be tested over the next year and will become part of a new business subscription called Wearables for Work, targeted at the corporate segment.

What is this pendant

The pendant from Limitless is a wearable device the size of a medallion that clips onto a shirt or is worn as a necklace. It is equipped with a highly sensitive microphone and a compact camera for recording the user's environment in real-time. Meta plans to integrate its own AI models to perform work tasks based on this data. The pendant will help employees automatically create notes from meetings, quickly search for information from previous conversations, and manage their calendar through voice commands. This will allow workers to stay focused on their main work, delegating routine operations to an AI assistant.

Corporate subscription and features

Meta has announced plans to create a business subscription called Wearables for Work specifically for the corporate segment. This will be part of a broader strategy to implement AI-powered wearables in the business environment. The company is directly competing with similar projects from Microsoft, Google and other market players who are also investing in this direction. The main features of the subscription include:

  • Automatic note-taking and meeting minutes with synthesis of key decisions
  • Voice access to information from corporate databases and team management
  • Built-in integration with Slack, Outlook, Google Calendar and other systems
  • Privacy protection through end-to-end encryption and local processing of sensitive data

Why this works right now

Meta is investing in the category of wearable devices, which for a long time was considered niche and low-profit. However, the development of large AI models capable of understanding context from video and audio streams in real-time has critically changed the situation. Modern models can recognize not only words, but also emotions, meeting participants, documents on a desk and other context. This makes pendants a potentially useful tool for office workers, allowing them to work more efficiently.

"This is a transition from consumer gadgets to professional tools that

solve real problems in the office," say analysts.

What does this mean

AI-powered wearables are moving from laboratories into commercial products. For companies, this creates a new channel of interaction with employees and potentially increases labor productivity. However, continuous recording of the environment raises acute questions about privacy and ethics — explicit employee consent and reliable data protection against leaks and unauthorized access are required.

*Meta is recognized as an extremist organization and is banned in the Russian Federation.
